BOOK MARKER DIY

A book marker is probably the first craft I ever made. In Colombia they  make you do book markers for father's day, and my Dad actually kept a book marker I made for a long time. He may still have it.I personally think a book marker is very useful. I always destroy my books because I bend the edge of the pages. So, since my dad's birthday is coming up. I thought I could experiment a little making a DIY of this before doing the final one for him. This is what you need:

1. A small piece of faux leather

2. Cardboard

3. Scissors

4. Super Glue

5. Hole Puncher 

6. Marker for deco

7. Suede Lace

8. Embroidery Thread

This will take you about 15 minutes to make. It is very easy! Cut the cardboard to the size of book marker you want, then glue it to the faux leather. Cut the excess, let the glue dry for 2 minutes while pressing cardboard on the leather to make sure it's is properly glued. Punch a corner of the book marker with the hole puncher. Then cut 5 to 6 strips of the suede lace to the length desire to make a fringe. Then secure suede lace with the embroidery thread making a knot and then wrapping the thread around it about 5 times, make a knot again and cut the excess. Finish up your book marker with the design you want using the marker. I usually add a little note on the back of it to make it more personal. 

MANGO-CRANBERRY SMOOTHIE

I finally had a little time to prepare something during the weekend for the blog. I didn't think I would miss so much writing and sharing here what I like. It has really become a way to have a break in my daily routine. As a full time employee is a little hard sometimes to work for someone else and find yourself getting away from the things you like. As a designer is even harder to realize this. It gets to a point where you feel you've lost all sense of your style and it's even difficult to get inspired again. I think this is the main reason I like doing stuff here.. I've said it before and I will keep saying it. A personal blog for me is where you can be a 100% you. No body tells you what to do or how to do it. It's just you! And who doesn't love that?! So... going back to the topic of this post..I made a very simple but very refreshing and delicious smoothie this weekend. Of course I took the pictures and forgot the camera in my boyfriends car so just today I am able to share it here! 

Have I told you about Chia seeds? Well, I love these little things. I love adding them to my cereal, granola and smoothies/juices. They really don't taste like anything unless you add a lot. They have an amazing source of vitamins, fiber and many other good things. Check out this visual that explains better its nutrients and benefits. I definitely recommend them :)

I've missed my blog so bad! Two weeks ago I went to Colombia and I couldn't prepare any posts since I usually do this on the weekends when I don't have to work. And, this past weekend I went to Orlando to a wedding. I love going there, everything looks like out of the movies. I absolutely love kids, I love how inspiring they are and how much we ("adults") have to learn from them. And, being surrounded by them makes me feel happy. Anyway.. COZY + COLORFUL INTERIORS

As you can see I took a good long break :) I was visiting my family in Colombia for my brother's birthday. Going home is always good to get inspired. Specially because being at my parents house is so cozy. My mom is an interior designer so she is always concerned on how her house looks. She is very clean and organized but she still makes it feel like is not a magazine, it's just home.. So, of course this inspires me to make my house feel that way. And, these are some of the interiors I feel would match better with my taste and would make my home comfortable and cozy.
