Ok, this is really not an ice cream. I am not an ice cream lover. I mean of course I like it but 9 out of 10 times I eat less than half when I get an ice cream. So, I really like making this little dessert. It's sweet enough to ease your cravings and it's very healthy (not so healthy to eat it everyday but it's definitely better than ice cream). The first time I made this I was amazed by the fact that you only need frozen bananas to get the ice cream consistency. And, on the same website they explained how to do it, they suggested adding nutella. Who doesn't love nutella?! And for that same reason I never buy nutella. Instead, I substitute it with organic chocolate almond butter, much healthier and still pretty good. I am selling you on this but there are a couple more things I like about making this. 1. You can use those bananas that you forgot you had and they are too ripe to eat and 2. it takes 5 minutes to make which it's awesome for my life lately. As you can see I haven't been around here in a while and I have awesome reasons for it :) I will update you later. So, after all these great things I told you about this I hope you like it too! Enjoy!
How to do it:
Cut the bananas in slices about 1/2 inch thick and put them in the freezer until their really really frozen. I always have a couple bananas in my freezer for smoothies or to make this. Put them in the blender and blend them until they look almost like bread crumbs. At this point, throw the almond butter in the mixture and keep blending until the consistency is soft like ice cream or frozen yogurt. Do not put it back in the freezer, it will get hard as a rock and the texture is not the best. And that's it! Serve it and top it with almonds or any other topping you like.
