I am here! And, this is probably one of my favorite DIYs. It is very easy and I really like how it came out. Even though it made me realise it is time to design new business cards. I've had my business cards since I graduated 2 years ago. And, your style usually evolves with time. New fonts come out, your into new colors.. so many different factors make your style change. And, well my bc didn't necessarily look good with this holder. So, I decided to cover them up ( because it got too busy with all the colors) with tissue paper and only show the back of them. I will show you the before and after of my business cards in other post. Today I'll show you what I did! This is perfect for a gift and I know who I will be making this for this month!
You only need Sculpey Clay or Oven Bake Clay, acrilyc paint and an xacto or anything else to carve out the middle of the sphere.
Start by making a sphere with the clay. STAY AWAY FROM YOUR PET or all the hair it's going to stick to it. It was too late before I realized it was not a good idea to pet my kitty while doing this.
With the xacto, carve out the middle of the sphere where you'll place the business cards. Keep molding the sphere until you are happy with the way it looks. Now, place it in the oven at 250 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Check on it every time you can. The cooking time might change depending on the type of clay and oven you use.
After the holder comes out from the oven, let it cool. Once it's cold paint it and make any pattern or design you like. Let it dry and place your business cards on it! I added a gold sticker with my initial to it to make it more personal.
