I've wanted to do a DIY I found to transfer tissue/napkin on card board. You can find here the video I used to follow the process. It looked so easy an fun to make..and very cheap also. I decided to make a notebook using the cardboard with the transferred tissue as the cover. So here Is what you I used:
1.Paper bag, used the card stock on the bottom for the transfer.
2.Tissue
3. Washi tape (this is optional)
4. Scissors
5. Embroidery Thread
6. Sewing Needle
7. Kitchen Plastic Wrap
8.Large notebook
9.Iron
You can use a new piece of card stock or you can use any recycled card stock that you have at home like I did. You can always cut the card stock to any size you want. Take your napkin or tissue and peel it apart until you end up with a really thin layer where the graphics are printed. Then, cut a piece of wrapping paper a about the same size of the tissue and a little bigger than the card stock. I folded the card stock in half before transferring the graphics. Now, using the notebook layer the card stock, then the wrapping paper, and lastly the tissue. Make sure the plastic and the tissue are covering all the area of your card stock. Cover all 3 layers with one of the pages from your notebook. Set your iron to medium and pass the iron over the notebook page making sure to press a little the card stock and napkins. What happens here is that the plastic melts and turns kind of into a very thin glue so the tissue transfers. And, the transfer is done! I wonder how this lady found this out, i love it. (or maybe I am the only one that doesn't know how to do it, very fun anyways). Now using some pages from your notebook or if you want you can use white paper. Cut about 10 to 15 pieces (you can add more pages if you want) of the over all width of the notebook when is open (not folded) and the height of the notebook. Line up the paper and the card stock and sew them together in the center of the notebook. I only did 2 stitches on the top and 2 on the bottom. It was more than enough for the amount of paper I used. Finally, I used wash tape to cover the edges of the notebook to prevent the tissue from peeling and to add a little more color. And that's it! I took me about 30 minutes to finish the whole thing. It is really easy and looks very cute :)
I loved making this!
I used patterned tissue paper, and the cardboard of a old box!
It turned out really well, so thank-you!
